70.3 World Championships Course Breakdown
Race week is here and I wanted to share my thoughts going in.
The Course
The bike is going to be the decisive leg. 2,400m of climbing over 180km with a brutal headwind section on the Queen K highway. I've done my homework — rode the course twice this week and know every corner, every climb, every place to push and recover.
The run is flat and fast, which should suit my strengths. But after that bike, nothing is guaranteed.
My Competition
The start list is loaded. At least 5 athletes who could win this race on any given day. I'm not going to focus on others — my race plan is about executing MY race, regardless of what anyone else does.
My Goals
A goal: Top 5 and a sub-8 hour finish B goal: Top 10 C goal: Finish healthy and learn for next year
How to Follow
I'll be wearing bib #27. You can track me live on the race app, and I'll post updates as soon as I cross the finish line.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me to get to this start line. Race day is the celebration of months of hard work. Let's enjoy it!
